October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Help support and continue to spread breast cancer awareness!  Earlier detection through screening, increased awareness and even technology advances are extremely important for women in the U.S. with breast cancer.

Some statistics everyone should know:

  • About 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer
  • In 2017, an estimated 252,710 new cases of invasive breast cancer and 63,410 new cases of noninvasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed. 
  • Men can even be diagnosed with breast cancer.  A man’s lifetime risk of breast cancer is about 1 in 1000 with about 2,470 new cases expected in 2017.
  • As of March 2017, there are more than 3.1 million women with a history of breast cancer.  This includes women currently being treated and women who have finished treatment.
