Child Advocacy Services is looking for volunteers for the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program. A CASA volunteer is an everyday citizen 21 and older who provides a powerful voice and consistency for an abused and neglected child that is going through the foster care system. CASA training for Ascension Parish volunteers begins at 5:30 pm February 13th at the Child Advocacy Services office, 1026 E. Worthey Road, Suite C. Gonzales, LA 70737. Those interested are asked to call Krisy Rice at 225-647-2005 or email krice@childadv.net to sign up for the training or ask questions. No special skills are required, but a CASA volunteer must make a sincere commitment because the duties are extremely important.
